Default Re: Robalo full transom

Ok guys...we MOVED IT!!! ;D

We put it in the water this morning with the bracket on it and things DIDN'T look good. :o The swim platform was right AT water level in a calm river. ::)

So....we pulled it across town to my place, snatched the motor, snatched the bracket, remeasured, marked, filled, drilled, faired, and repainted it in record time!! As I sit here she is nestled under cover drying right now. The new height put the lip the outboard rests on at a nice 27.25" high. I settled on this height after I spoke with Skools earlier and he stopped to check a couple boats in the boatyard he was in. Why was he in a boatyard when he has a yard full of boats at home? I don't know, I guess because he is a boat *****!! ;D

I also took this opportunity to drop several of the 27 bolts holding her on. Now there are less bolts, but they are going to be spaced out nicely so things will be more easily sealed.

Thanks for all the imput guys....I just certainly didn't want to move that thing when I was for SURE we had just finished. I am glad it is done now though!!!

BTW, that new transom, white powder coated bracket, and freshly painted Merc Opti look GOOD together! Even if it is a black anchor! ;D

I will post pics when all is finished....hopefully we will hang it all tomorrow! 8)
