I'd have to concur about the 165. I had two before my current boat & never again.
Better on gas & quieter are pluses for an I/O but they can nickle & dime you to death, I learned all about muriatic acid, how to rebuild a rochester BC carb, how to do gearwork on the outdrive, how to hate bellows & that damn contact cement & I bet I pulled & replaced the outdrives 50 times in 10 years! I use my boats in the Gulf. An outboard can be pulled off & replaced, expensive but simple & sure! just my 2 cents Doug
