Default Carb Cleaning on Yamaha

Easy job! What you need is a gallon of carb cleaning solution you can get from Advance Auto. A screw driver big and small, an 11mm wrench open and closed end, and a can of brake cleaner.

1. Remove the bowl, gasket, and floats, be careful not to lose the springs.

2. Remove the jets from each size. My jer size was 124, and remove the rubber gasket from the end. Reomve the top plate over the carbs. intake this takes a philps screw driver.

3. With a large screw driver remove the ventori injectors.

4. Remove the plastic retaining peices for throttle linkage.

5. Immerse carbs in solution and wait 30 mins.

6. Remove carb and spray with brake cleaner and then blow out passeges with high pressure air.

7. Reassemble the unit and do the next.

Each carb should take 1 hour to complete.

Did this and my engine runs like a top! I did a follow up. To those of you who have an external fuel/water seperator. Replace seperator and fill with Seafoam. Warm up engine first. Then run the engine this will ensure through cleaning.

Hope this helps!
