My boat didn't have a fuel gauge so while the tank was out I tested the sending unit and the gauge worked fine. So I installed the gauge and when I put 30 gallons of fuel it should have gave me a liitle more than a 1/2 of a tank, but when I turned on the key it was less than a 1/8, I checked everything I even reached in with a piece of wire and grabbed the float and the gauge went up. I got POed and pulled the sending unit out and found out the unit is 5 inches short. So off to the boat parts suppler and found out elbows types only run to 27 inches. The guy recommended this Livorsi type sender that measures *air pressure in a small tube so there is no floating or bouncing gauge, has anybody here have one....Ted * * http://www.livorsi.com/catalog/waterproof.htm
