The best way (most reliable way) to do this is to setup a SSH and have your clients use winscp (secure way of ftping files) to your shop. FTP would work too, but FTP is not encrypted. Requirements: Try rackspace.com Dedicated Linux server running ssh (40GB of space). Probably $150/month for hosting. I have setup up a similar system for our company to share files with our Japanese business partners. They love it and it's secure. I think you'll really regret using 1and1 for business purposes.
