| Saturday bassin/breamin....

Well, Guys the most apropriate thing I can say about today is WOW! *:o I arrived at 5:00am this morning to a friends *place in Evergreen. He was there to do some work as we didnt finish all the planting and such last weekend. My plan, along with his son's was a little different. The goal for the day was to catch some bigger than life bluegills and also cull out three of his farm ponds of some 13" or less bass. A rough job, but someone had to do it. 8) I started off at the two ponds near the house and I immediately caught the first bream of the day. A beast by all panfish standards. We kept catching them on this little spot with the occasional "cull bass" in between. This catch continued untill they were interupted by My partner Daniel fighting a 20lb carp on his ultralight with 4lb mono. He battled the brute with supreme skill untill I got my hands on it to land it...and lost it. Sorry, no pic of the carp. *::) We continued to WEAR OUT these cull bass and fill the cooler for a couple hours...no more bream. A little later we were once again interupted by Daniel's need for catching larger fish. He had a nice kitty on, here he is bowed up once again on his 4lb ultralight. He again battles the behemoth with great skill and finesse. I have met grown men who cant fight a fish as well as this fine young fellow. We land the fish that we believed it to be around the 10lb mark. The picture really doesnt do it justice. *;D Here is the cat, once again...on 4lb test. *8) Jr and I continue KILLIN the bass for a couple more hours while chatting about lots of things...mostly fishing. * At this point we had so many bass on ice that I stopped counting. For every one we kept we threw back at least two. We decided to take lunch and then hit the "good" bass lake after that. The "good" un huh? *::) OK!?! We had a fine meal of pork t-loin with bread, BBQ sauce and homemade mac and cheese for lunch and then back to the fishin!!!! My buddy with a nice lil chunk: Here is his beautful Chocolate Lab Suzie sp?: She is our own personal B.R.M. (Bass Retrieval Machine) 8) We finished the day off with a few more "culls" like this: ...and released a couple better ones like this: We never caught any real "lunker" bass. They said there were some up to 8 or so in there as they had caught them before. Im sure there are as these were some beautiful ponds. I even saw one that I felt would go 5lb, but he would'nt hit anything. We made out with these in the end: Look at the size of these Bluegill: :o Keep in mind that we realeased at least 2 for every one you see...total count brought home: 1-10ish Channel Cat 13-NICE Bluegill 51-Bass (realeased at least 100 because I didnt want to clean them *;D )
