Adding scuppers.

I did a search a few things popped up, but not exactly what I was looking for.
My boat has a full transom, the drains go right into the bilge area so I get leaves rain water and everything else in there.I've always wanted to add scuppers to the boat.
Any suggestions on doing this I think they would be above the water line, but I have to check it out.Any suggestions on brands, or type, or problems I might run into.Thanks.
