Steering helm doesn't last long

on an outboard boat, always replace the helm and cable at the same time. Dual cable will only give you the added safety for when you have a single cable failure. Also helps get any slop out of the steering(hi performance stuff). It can make the steering much stiffer. That's a big heavy boat with a big motor to have single cable steering.
