Like any fuel issue, its that last .1% thats left in the bowl thats the killer. With newer EFI systems the gas is supposedly not exposed to air and will last longer, but it too will eventually turn to gum.

If its ethanol free gas you may get 2+ years out of it. But sometimes time has a way of creeping up and then you ask yourself 'How many YEARS ago did I put this fuel in?" If you ask yourself this question, its probably too late.

As an absolute minimum take a pc of masking tape and at the fuel filler label the date of the gas.

Since you are experiencing a health issue, its quite possible that boat could be sitting for a long time. I'd play it safe an go the whole 9 yds on 'winter-izing' the thing
