Average price of gas in 1988 was .90 a gallon. A 150 merc was about $5500 or 6,111 gallons of gas
Average price of gas in 2017 was $2.49. A 150 was $11000 or 4,417 gallons of gas. Plus , over the lifespan of the engine,1500 hours, it will save you at least 2.5 gph. 2.5 x 1500 =3,750 gallons @ $2.49 = $9,337.50. My philosphy is the more u use it, the cheaper it gets.
