Some of the plants are state of the art. At one plant in South America, Ford literally dug their own port so they could roll the cars out of the plant and onto a transport ship. One example of efficiency that will never be allowed in the US.

Ford got bailed out as well, it just wasn't called a bail out. I don't have the link anymore, but it was shown that Ford received more government money than GM and Chrysler put together if you figure in what Ford got from oversees governments. It bugs the hell out of me that Ford got a pass and credited for not taking a bailout when in fact they got MORE than the other 2 did. And GM started there partnership with China YEARS ago, somewhere around 09 or so. Chery is getting pretty big, and if the injunctions and sanctions against them for infringement get lifted, you can bet on seeing Chinese cars here lickity split.
