I've only ever sanded the bottom paint off, I'm going to try a chemical paint stripper, but not the one by Interlux. It has terrible reviews. I would have used Pettit's Bio-Blast, but they've discontinued it.
Top sides paint... My choice would be Imron. Shot a late 60's, 38' Egg Harbor double cabin with it. The stuff is like iron. It's also toxic as all get out. Find yourself a supplied air respirator before you spray.
