Well, that little single axle trailer is badly overloaded with that boat--unsafe! So paying $1000 for boat and trailer would be taking a BIG risk. Even a decent used trailer for a Wellcraft V20 would cost $3000 with good tires and wheel bearings, no rust, decent jack, good winch, good hitch, etc. Then internals of the boat, steering, electrical, internal wood?
I would pass unless the engine were really good. I would hire a mercury mechanic to come out and start it and do a formal evaluation. He would check everything, cylinder pressures, generator output, trim pump, etc. etc. If it is good, it is worth $3k or so and probably worth the risk of paying $1k for the whole thing. But it might be a HUGE all-Summer project. OR, it could be the proverbial "diamond in the rough" and be the foundation of a $10k boat, motor, and trailer. Larry
