I use to use them pitch forks with the wide teeth, just bent the shaft on it so it was just like the clam rake, get cheap at a discount store.
like this one at Home Depot this one $25 but I have got for like $15 at discount stores. just shorten the handle and bend, you good to go http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/cata...gry=Search+All
