Default New Years Reds Suwannee

Waiting on the wife to send me a picture.
Too warm for the redfish to be up the creeks. But we still managed our keepers. New Years Eve and New Years day 75 degrees. No wind. There were plenty of boats in the water. The Suwannee River doesn't have much flow due to the drought in South Georgia so the saltwater species are moving up river. The water is as clear as I have ever seen it too. Winter low tides and clear water revealed a lot of bottom. Now I can see why the fish hold in certain areas. Although it is a bit unnerving to see huge oyster clusters a foot or two below the skeg. Once again, the V was left on the trailer and I used the more H2O frugal NV-19. Getting to the honey hole is half the fun. I wish I had a video of us getting up Geiger Creek. Running all out across 100 yards of puff mud that was literally breaking the surface of the water. When we got where we were going I discovered 6 airboats in the creek. When we finally did put a keeper in the boat the livewell pump was so jammed with mud it wouldn't work. The creek was also riddled with Otter as we saw five get up on land and move to the next creek over. That might explain why the fish were scattered. Ended up with a 20" and a 21" red for table fare. I only caught 3 fish and mom caught six. Fun trip. Getting outfished by mom is the normal MO.
