the ethanol stabil treatment is what I used this year for storage and no issues. There was also sea foam in the tank which I use during the season on every other fill up.
I believe the 2+2 also was the alchohol formula too, might want to read the bottle. You are probably right, your lack of issues is more than likely due to you having access to good fuel.
