I Wonder
 you said that your speed with the 3.7 was very slow and now your truck cant pull a hill with the v in tow ..Just a though ,,i wonder if your foam under the floor is totally saturated and water loged this would add hunderds of unwanted pounds to the boat whick may cause both problems
