I don't think as much......seems like all the V's from about late 80's to present day (if they still made em)do not have that issue as much as their predecessors....And to tell you the truth I don't know whether or knot that extension is all glass or a combination...I'll have to check on that one....: ) Overall I would say the V-21 is an update on a unbeatable hull design.....they knew enough not to mess with something that has worked for decades (hull). Instead, they made much needed improvements within the hull...I've owned both boats a 1974 V-20 & my current 1996 V-21 (THANK YOU REEL!)and I can tell you the V-21 gives you that classic ride (dry windshield) and a little more on the inside hull. Have you found one yet? Dave
