Can't say 100% for the Suzuki, but just mounted my Opti myself. Saved a bunch of money, rewarding and fun. If you are handy and enjoy this stuff go for it! Plenty of helpfull guys on here in case you get stuck on something.

The harness was plug and play in my case. Unless you are getting old style guages I think the electronic guages on most new rigs will be plug and play. To my knowledge Suzuki has a similar electronic guage setup to the SmartCraft where with 2 guages they show pretty much everything.

The Merc had a lifting eye to screw on top to lift the motor($30). I bought it to avoid the chance of screwing up something on the new rig just due to the $30. Maybe able to get the shop selling it to you to loan you the Suzuki version? Or you can use the flywheel extractor if you have one and willing to go that route.

I thought the rigging process was very easy just took a little time. But I also think I dedicated more time to routing and caring for my wiring a lot more than a shop would have.
