I am not afraid to work on it, I just don't know what I'm trying to fix with the water issue. I am going to get a service manual for it and go from there. Like I've said before, I am not much of a mechanic, but I am a heck of a parts changer.
That is a good idea on the modern motor under the old cowl. If I decide to get REAL correct with the boat, it will need a 1968 motor......this one is too old. Actually, I have had an offer to buy the motor over on S&F, someone wants it because it is a short shaft. I should probably sell it and buy an 84-86 90 hp for it and be done with it. But I love a challenge so I will tinker with it til it's right, or I mess it up beyond repair.
