I personally really like the 6.0L. I have a friend with an 05 that has close to 175K on the clock with minumum issues. The 6.0 will really scream up high to. It's a bit different compared to the grunt that the old 350 could produce, but does have some good power. On one of the forums I go to they compared the 6.0 to the old 454, and the only downside to the 6.0 that was talked about was that it was a higher RPM engine. It takes some getting used to for the different RPM range, but it sure is a stout little V8.
Thanks for the reply. I know that someday I might have to replace the old girl and I was wondering what I have watch out for. A friend of mine was looking at low mileage/couple yr old trucks and I kept seeing the 6.0 and wondered what happened to the 5.7. When the time comes, I won't be afraid of the 6.0.

BTW, I know several people that have bought 06, 07 and 08 Duramax with reviews from "mileage not what they were led to believe" to "best vehicle I've ever owned". Of course if one pays 50k+ for a vehicle, it's hard to objectively evaluate it. Even a used one is out of my price and/or need range.
