Default Re: good price on 78' v-20?

It is so tuff to put a price on a boat that old!!
NADA says that the motor is worth 8 to $900. But it is only worth it if it runs?? But if it has had new upgrades, like a new lower unit and eletric then it might be worth more??
In most cases the reason the boats are for sale is the motor is junk or has had problems. Which means you buy someone elses headach!!
The trailer, How old is it?? What kind is it?? If the bissness is gone like say Calkins then you will never get parts for it. A new trailer is going to be min. $2500
Te boat, what condition is it in?? Hows the transom, floor, hull it self??

All that said , if it is a good hull, motor runs fair to good and you have a name brand trailer in fair condition, I would say $3000 to $5000 or even better when you start adding things like that coustom encloser and stuff like eletronics.

How bad you want it and how bad they want to sell it??
Good luck
