I like and use all Shimano TLD 20 & 25's. The TLD 15's are nice too and will hold up to about anything you can throw at em within that range. TLD15 would make a killer striper reel. Nice smoooooth drags. For trolling I like 6' rods. I'm not too picky on the rods. Just needs to match the rod to the line size on the reels and good to go IMO. I have a 6' shakespear uglystick 20/50 matched up to a TLD 20 and it is my fave. Rod runs about $65. TLD 20's can be had for as little as $125 - $130 online. I missed a killer eBay deal by $2 on two new 20's....they went for $217 including shipping...doh! Same as the TLD 25 with a little less line capacity but also a little more drag power than the 25.

X2..I like a little stiffer rod w/roller-tips for trolling...you probably won't need wire line, but if you get into any wahoo up there you'll need wire LEADERS...right TOOTHY critters...
