Ferm, I did the same thing... I towed the 248 that I sold to Skool's which had a bracket and twin 200's on it with a JEEP LIBERTY!!! No problem. The thing is, I only had to drive a couple blocks to the ramp. That said, I would never have towed on any major road or highway. Stopping would certainly be an issue.
So, I also agree with all that has been said, and especially Willy's comments about the importance of brakes and wheel base if you plan to tow further than I do... By the way, I now tow with an 06 Durango 4.7L magnum V8. I towed from FL to MD and could barely tell I had anything behind me...
