Default Question on mounting the swim platform

My new (used) poly swim platform with three step ladder came in yesterday (thank you ebay). As I don't have any install instructions, can someone give me a rule of thumb on mounting height? Also, are these things mounted with through transom bolts or just screws?

Thanks,
Maury

On a duallie you should have easy access to the transom, I would definetly bolt it. I would'nt trust screws holding my 220 lbs coming out of the water.

Yes, bolt on.
If it's the standard type, just put to the boat and see where it's comfortable to drill and bolt at the highest and lowest location. Chances are you only got 6" travel possible without interfering with the lift ring.

THRU-BOLT w/a HEFTY backing-plate on top bolts...thats where a LOTTA pull will take place, whereas the lower fasteners will have a shear load on 'em ... MJ's right about have lots of 5200 on hand ;) ...

Also get a good eyeball on where it will sit when you are moving, you don't want it into the water more than needed.

Have you decide which side to mount it on?
I'm sure that you can change the bracket to mount on the port side so you won't have to climb over the control and steering cables.
I didn't see the lower support, I presume it came with it?
