that would be great but, it is a little more work than i am interested in doing. and probably more than i am capable of.how about a trade? bracket and platforms, submerged 92 johnson 175, and 79 evinrude 150 with less than 100 hours on rebuild? any takers? my rude is STRONG! pushes my 86 bayliner capris (18.5') 58.6 mph. all i want is a reliable motor that will fit on my boat without a bunch of hassle. with that said, if i mount bracket low on my transom and fill in holes later, will i be alright?

Racer, I've never heard of anyone doing that. Sell both motors and buy yourself a good running 25" motor.
Just my opinion. Blue

Mine was that way originally...I didnt do it.
To be honest the water level runs JUST below the top of the lowest notch. It doesnt bother me, as I have had that lil boat in some pretty ROUGH conditions, but I am going brackett and full transom this winter anyways. ;D

yeah blue. thats what i was thinkin. only i have no idea what to ask for my stuff, or where to find a good deal on a motor.i got all my stuff on trade or by luck. afraid i will get rid of a good running motor and end up stuck with a POS. i like schools idea about of filling transom and using bracket. then i could run my 150. but that is a lot of work. and not much gained. the way my 92 is layed out i wouldnt gain any space inside. and on my buddies proline with bracket stopping and starting in shallow water is a real pain. would that be a prob with v20. also what about my kicker and trolling motor?where will i mount them? answer me this, about how much should i ask for a stainless marine bracket w/ platforms? used with few scratches?tx

Race take a look at my gallery shots, no problem in shallow water at all, and kicker works beautiful, could'nt be happier.
Only negative I have found was it is a little slower to respond when manuevering in a tight harbor, but a lot of that could be that I am just not to good dealing with the currents I have to contend with yet with this boat. It will perform better, ride like a longer boat, very quiet behind that full transom and sitting back further on the boat. I can actually have a normal conversation with someone while at top speed. And I think that even though I only have a 115 HP it's plenty quick enough partly because of the Armstrong Bracket. And it is very economical for a heavy cuddy with that motor bracket combo. I fish all day and use very little gas. JM2Cents
