scary swordfish story

I just saw a story on the news last night about a kid that was reeling in a blue marlin in a fighting chair on the back of a sport fisher. They were video taping the fish as it jumped and tail walked right near the stern of the boat. Suddenly on the second jump/tail walk, the fish came into the boat - the fishes head smacked hard on the kid's face breaking 4 bones in his face. The video was incredible. He was lucky that bill didn't stab him. They air-lifted the kid and he recovered fine.

Yeah I saw that BR. That was amazing...and to catch on video. WOW! You see, he should have waited for someone to get the net instead of trying to muscle him into the boat. ;D

You said that right Trout! There was another woman that something similar happend to. She actually was video taping off the side of the boat when the fish (BIG BLUE MARLIN) erupts out of the water right next her. The camera shot was awesome. The bill stabbed her in the boob. She had implants and the implant on that side got tucked between a rib or chest cavity or something. Strangely, the doctors didn't even think of taking out the implant, but when she nearly died several weeks later they went in to get the implant out and couldn't find it. That's when they finally found it stuffed down in her chest cavity. A wild story indeed.

Marlin fishing is dangerous!

Good story, but you would think they would notice that one booble wasn't looking right. Horny fish ;)

Saw that Marlin jump into the sporty on the news, BR...one LUCKY DUDE to come away w/ only broken bones...he was just about shishkabobed!!... :o...

I can't imagine takin a hit like that!! Trout - they did notice it was droopy. I think they thought it disentigrated or something when they went in and couldn't find it. I might not have told it EXACTLY right, but you get the picture ;) She was lucky to live.

Boy THAT was a pi$$ed-off sword...but in the end, he gave his life for what he believed!!!... :'(... ::)...
