| Fastest with 200

Read claim of 60 mph with a 200 hp outboard Thats by far fastest as most report 45-52 range Personally, I would have gone 250 + but V21 max rating 200. The lightest 300 would be my choice if allowed. |

easily done with proper setup, Ridge Runner was running high 60s with his 250, theres a v20 with a 300 merc 4 stroke in V running high 60's with a conservative setup

That’s to fast for me. I’m at 38 mph with a 150 and that’s enough for me. 60? Geees. That’s flying

Almost literally flying. When I first repowered with the Yamaha 200 HPDI I could hit 50 with fresh bottom paint on smooth water with the engine trimmed. It felt dicey with so little of the hull in the water. I rarely exceed 40 these days. Of course, I AM old.

if its not hopping, you're not driving it fast enough. Seriously, these boats are fairly tame at high speed. They have a rounded keel and generally will chine walk once you get it running a good speed. You learn how to offset drive the walk. I've driving far worse, far faster( 107 is my fastest on the water). Numerous boats in the high 80's. Quite a few in the 90's, a hand full in the triple digits. If you were to ask what's the fastest set up with a current 200 right now, its without any doubt, the 200 V6 Mercury 4 stroke

I thought my boat ( 1978 20,6 wellcraft steplift ) was fast 38 mph at W.O.T Turning a 15x17 inch prop. Maybe I take too much stuff with me. 150 mercury outboard 2 stroke. One 5hing I know is that its not overloaded with fish lol. Im lucky if I get a keeper
