Default Oyster Roast

This was our 25th Friday after Thanksgiving oyster roast.
Culprits bagged and ready for washing.

Washing the rest of the mud off using an old bedliner.

Getting the cooking plate ready.

Throwed them on

And covered to steam.

Buzzards at the table.

WILLY, I KNOW THIS REMINDS YOU OF SOMEONE.

Other stuff for non oyster eaters (they can eat crackers for all I care)

Couple of Boston Butts.

Chipped and ready to go.

Brunswick Stew (sorry Stinky, no squirrel in it).

Greens.

Some stuffed mushrooms.

Crab loaf with crackers.

Cake

Very spoiled rotten just turned 2 grandchild.

Perfect moonlight night.

Yea Tsubaki, it looked somehow familiar ;D

That looked like a shindig I am sorry I missed, where you at? I might have to come down and establish another stash in your neck of the woods ;)

Not meaning to ignore the attempted self invites, but ya'll don't really don't want to go somewhere you will bust a gut eating and fall in the fire drinking and then have to wake up to the smell of a breakfast casserole and coffee just to have to shuck the remaining oysters to have to make an oyster stew to eat them for lunch as to not to waste them.

Billy Mac this stew was a whole butt (cooked), 2cans of cream corn, 2 cans of baby butterbeans, 4 cans of whatever stewed tomatoes you like and a bottle of your local favorite BBQ sauce and simmered all day.

The traditional stew has a mix of vegetables and meats (usually including chicken, squirrel, pork, etc.)
The childrens story "Stone Soup" is very close to the way to prepare it.

Tsubak I saw your admonishment but got to tell you that sounds like a very recent shindig I had in Lake Solitude La. about 45 minutes north of Baton Rouge.
Saw as long as you got space on the ground for a mat and sleeping bag I am good to go ;D
