Default Happy Fathers Day

Happy Fathers Day to all you guys. I hope you all had a great day.

The first half of mine was out in the woods shooting with my son. I taught him to shoot and now he’s teaching me. We worked on the AR and pistol.

Then came home and had terrific burgers with wife, both kids, daughter-in-law and little grandson. All around a very nice day.

Hey Scott, how far out of P-land do you have to go to shoot? That's a nice way to spend Father's day.

XXL - going toward the coast, there’s a road to the south off of hwy 26 a little past the rest stop at around milepost 28. There’s a quarry up that road, I think it’s about 3 miles in. If you’re interested, I can see if my son’s mapping software has the GPS coordinates - it used to be easy to find using landmarks but the important one is so overgrown that it’s pretty useless.

It’s about 35 to 40 minutes from our place on the west side of Portland to the turnoff.

For being in the city, that's not too bad. Here in La Grande it's just a quick zip up the Dump road or on the freeway towards Mt. Emily. Quick and easy.

We lived in Ellensburg for several years until 1973 and I miss being so close to the boonies. I loved the seasons there, the river bottom aroma at dusk on the Yakima River. Carpentering in the summer did get a little hot but we could hit the river with inner tubes and cool off after work. Nice way to live.
