Default Need a new gas tank :/

Happy New year to all! I've pulled my old gas tank (my mechanic did) on my 1987 V20 and he wants to have his local guy build me one for around $1000--ouch! Is there any place that stocks the exact same size as I need? Thought I read that on here awhile back ***129300; Any help would be much appreciated!

Sounds steep. Is that an installed price? Should be $550-$600 for a fabricated 60 gal aluminum tank, unless things have really gotten out of hand with pricing.

Someone here might tell you a part number for a replacement plastic tank.
I was never able to find one with the fill/vent on the right end and low enough to fit.

If you can find a correct or workable plastic tank, go with it.

I totally agree SkunkBoat and nope that price doesn't include the install. I sure do wish I could find a plastic replacement. My mechanic said he looked but couldn't find anything to match up and they were too tall. I'm sure I'm not the first one with this issue ***128533;

Call RDS in Perry f;, they are the OEM. Supplier for wellcraft. I bought one about 5-6 years ago for $500. Not sure what they are noe.

I am going tp post this on the for sale section, but there is a boat here, mid 80***8217;s, that was damaged by the hurricane. The owner is parting it out and says it had a tank replacement a few years ago. Do a search on Panama City. Fl Craigslist. Type in scavenger in search field, should pop up

I will try to post a link

Sorry link is gone. Must have sold

Keep looking at Moeller plastic tanks. Somebody here found one to fit, I think, maybe it was smaller, no v belly???? The 55 gal sure looks close if you can get one with the fill on the starboard side. I just noticed the make a 032555 and a 032555-1....maybe the dash denotes the side of the fill? 51"x 25.5" x 15"

Try http://www.speedytanks.com/ aka Atlantic Coastal Welding in Bayville, NJ. They made a replacement belly tank for my 84 V20 cuddy (should be identical to yours) many years ago for $500. Excellent quality, better than original. Dunno what it would cost now

Shipping is going to be a major cost.

I had one made (poly) by Triple M Plastic Products in Kennebunk, Maine. $488 + shipping. That was in 2004.
