Default Hurricane Pics part III

Many thanks to Destroyer for posting for me. Still no internet, but hot spot on phone not too bad.

this is a shot of my neighbors dock across the street. i took this the day before. the parker was just resting on the lift, so i went over and lashed it to the cradle, to keep it from floating off if the 12 ' storm surge hit as expected

this is what was left. the covered lift with the trawler fell on the parker lift and tumbled it out of the cradle. the lashing i tied kept it from floating off

notice the pilings on the trawler house are 12" concrete post. the storm snapped all of them off

this is a shot of a friend of mine on his catamaran, my son and I went out to help him secure it for the blow. it actually did ok except for some dock rash from banging a piling.

once again, many thanks to D for previous post

WOW!! Lucky you tied your neighbors Parker up or it would have become just another causality of the storm. Hate to see such destruction. Still, I'm grateful that you and your family came through it unscathed.

PS You're more than welcome on the postings. I was honored to do it.

Yeah, this was a life changing experience. About 40% of the business are gone and don t plan of reopening. I live in the older part of town built in the 30 s & 40 s with a lot of mom & pop stores. Most will not be back. My daughter is a middle school civics teacher. Before the storm she had 130 students, now 58. One school adjacent to Tyndall Air Force base lost 85% of the student population.

Did u guys notice the canopy on the deck of the Parker on the back of the wheelhouse in the before pic. The wind stood it straight up in the after pic.

I ll try to take some more pics around town

saw the canopy on the parker - crazy before and after pic. Good on you to lash that parker for your neighbor.

I remember your Holland Grill from old posts because I have one too that I've patched up and kept living for 20 years. I bet you can find a parts Holland on craigslist and put it back together. Appreciate the pics. Very humbling.
