Default Gas tank vent

Never seen a screw in gas tank vent in the side of the hull near the fill hole like this 86 CC has. Always seen a screen vent with the screen facing down and towards the stern on other boats. Do you guys screw it down tight or leave it slightly open?

Cool

Never seen one like that either. You sure you're looking at a gas tank vent and not a bilge discharge or something?

Like destroyer, not sure what your describing. Sounds like someone stuck a barbed nipple on the vent hose and a cap on the outside . Take a picture or just go buy a correct one. Should be an easy swap

I screwed it all the way out and it has a screen in it that you can change out if it gets corroded I guess. Even screwed all the in, there is an air gap around the screw in part that will allow that tank to breathe. I thought it was shutting the air off when screwed all the way in but I just didn't take a close enough look. Never seen seen one like it.

Okay. Never saw one like that till you showed us yours. Did a little investigating. Here's what you have and who makes it.
