My uncle has an 89 V20 Cuddy cabin with a transom mounted 225 Yamaha. He needs to replace his control cables. I forgot what end has the length marked on them and was trying to save him the trouble of tearing the boat apart to look if they're on the control end. I figured you guys would have the answer or the necessary length. Also are there different style cables for different engine manufacturers? Thanks

This is the general industry standard:
Measure length along cable route from control lever to center line of outboard, add 4 ft for motorwell loop, round up to nearest whole foot for total length to order. |

Hey - I did forget to mention that different engine manufacturers will have different ball links attached to the cable ends, so make sure you get the proper length and that it is listed for use with your year and make of outboard.
Most distributors (iboats, Jamestown, etc.) have decent knowledgeable customer service folks that will help you to equip with the right gear. |

My uncle wound up buying them local since he isn't the most computer literate person. Thanks anyway.
