| V20 weather July 4

2 ft or less... Making the run to Chicken/Texas Tower in the Skunkboat tomorrow. There has been a solid bft bite, schoolies to 150#, some small yft mixed in at Texas Tower area. Trying to clear the inlet first light 4:15 if anyone else is going, I'll be listening to 68 (maybe 69 if the Staten Island guys won't shut the F up)

Today - took my son and his friend out for am fluking and scored two keepers 18" and a fat 23" , then added 5 keeper seabass to the box. Fished just a few hours in the am off Highlands, then a boat ride up to the Verrazano Bridge and back ! Great V boat weather, solid fishing, calm seas. Terrific day. |

SKUNKED! :( 65 out at 22mph ,25 trolling around Texas , 65 back at 25mph. 155+ miles, 50 gals even. Didn't need the extra cans.... Not much happening. A few guys at Bacardi got random fish but lots of disappointment. Maybe they bit in the afternoon but we couldn't stay. Took some boat pix. Now lets do the math!!! You went 65 out 65 back 25 trolling 155 nm.So that would be 178.25 miles at 50gallons a touch over 3.5 miles per gallon!!!!OK that is awesome!!!!!!!!!! Also lets not forget that you may still have Give me six left on that 140DT. Them dam nip's still I guess you would think about running to the Hudson (on a V-20 day). Truly a mini mini sport fisherman. |

Skunk........... charter friend connected with large blue fin a bit east of Chicken Canyon yesterday, July 4. He was headed out along side us. He's Eric Kerber - the " On a Mission Fishing Adventures" from Belmar, NJ . Runs a big Grady - super good guy if you or others want to shoot for tuna. Step Up and I've fished with him. |

Only fluke fishing and I enjoyed the trip but I never went tuna fishing on a charter have enough rides on anywhere from a 65 footer down to the mini V-20. Offshore fishing is a allot different than inshore. After all am happy to go anywhere at dam near 71 years old!!!!!!!
