It's going to smoke at idle without vro, just not much you can do about it. Be certain your t-stats are good, working, and your bypass valve is good and properly functioning as well. If that engine runs too cold, it will load up like no tommorrow on 50:1 mix. I like pennsoil semi synthetic myself. Great oil that clings really well to leave a lasting film during storage. Mercury oil smOkes like a SOB at 50:1

I do the exact same thing ferm does and it works out well. My motor does blow a ton of smoke at idle, to the point i get a lot of weird looks from others at the ramp

Ive used it in the past, what i use now is Mystik, it seems to smoke a bit less.

Bass pro sells it for 14.99 a gallon, i just wait until they are offering a free shipping promotion to order it.
