Default V21 owners boat top speed.....

Ran a quick end of day drag down the short bay channel inside Shark River ........hit 43 knots / 49.45 mph . Light on fuel, top down, just me on board, maybe 75lbs of gear.
So let's say 50 mph max likely.

Other V21 owners with 200 hp - what are you getting ?
I know of one.....on NW coast, reported 53 mph and I believe engine mounted a bit higher.

Interested to confirm efficient performance.
I believe my current Rebel stainless is a good match for my etec 200 HO.

That is a good clip in a cuddy. You know me, I like it
I followed a Canyon Bay boat down the Homasassa River last weekend. Speed limit of 25 mph. Most boats do 30 on plane pretty easily. Not the Canyon Bay. 19.5 MPH. With no tabs I could plane and hang at that low a speed. He was tab down and easing along with a new E-tec. They gotta be torque monsters.. My boat is right on the edge of falling off plane at 19 so that is where the tabs come in handy. Tabs in and I can plane at 14 to 15 mph. Just messing around. The 250 isn't as happy there as it is at 3500 to 4000 RPM. Fuel mileage is darn good at the lower speeds.

That motor of yours has moxy but the cuddy isn't going to fly as high as the center console. 50 is moving in a boat and as has been mentioned, add a little wind and that speed is useless.. Mainly that is why I stick to the 21P prop. The Merc will turn it more efficiently and definitely does better at a slow cruise, like over big waves where you have to slow to that 10 to 15 mph crawl... The big props really drag the rpm down when climbing up the face of a wave at low rpm. Even trolling with them is a PITA so I like the small prop for everyday adventures... Top end is something I chased and have now ceased to engage in altogether. Bigshrimping has it right... How slow can you go.. on plane and efficiently as possible.

That's why I liked the MIRAGE style prop. It's large diameter gets a boat up on plane at slower speeds, holds it there, provides excellent trim control, and good mpg's. When you want to drop the hammer though, it still gave a decent top end.

Not a V-21, best my v-20 cuddy has done is 48mph, empty, in a flat calm river and trimming it out best I could.

Like others are saying, I rarely see water that flat, running 28 or so is just fine.

150 yamaha 2 stroke 14.25 x 17 prop I think I've seen 44 wind and current behind me. Tho I rarely push pin down 42 is guaranteed on the regular. It has been almost 11 years and still love this boat. Would like to add trim tabs but with the oldest kid in college and another one soon extra greenbacks are scarce around here.

I got my boat up to 46 knots. V20 cuddy with three sided enclosure, radar arch, etc. The boat runs fastest in a bay chop. I just installed a Yamaha Saltwater Series II 15.25x19 SDS prop. It shifts like butter and holds water all the way to full trim.
