Hello to all. I have just renewed my membership in the Wellcraft V20 club. I just bought a 87 Cuddy. 6-8 years ago I had a 90 Cuddy. It's good to be back
I have many projects to work on, one of which is needing to replace the back to back seat. The base height on the one I took out was 16". Everything I see as a replacement says a 10" base height. That seems like a lot to give up. I would think it would sit noticeably lower. Has anyone else replaced their seat and what did you find? Thanks. |

All the new ones are cheap and 10 inch made for small freshwater sit down runabouts. Had a carpenter friend build my new one to the same specs as the old and the upolstery shop re do the seat cushions. Costs 3 times as much.
All for the wifey. Told her next time she's getting a pedestal seat.

We found a sweet deal on amazon. I used the supplied plastic base then just built a base out of PT 2x4 to set it on . The height might be a little low but my wife is tiny so it fits her.

I did the same.. I bought replacement wise seats for around $200.. only to get them and to find out that the base was way to small and I really needed a 14 or 16" base. Somebody on this sight recommended veada. I looked them up and was surprise that the seats are custom made to order per your liking. Top quality craftmanship .. marine plywood..etc choose your color and base height 14, 16 or 18 i believe. Thet take a while to make and are almost double the $.. but they will last 15-20 years.. i ended up with a recliner and a helm .. check it out

Yeah T-Man, I bought a set from Overton's. They are smaller seat cushions and the base height is only 10". They are cheap also. I think I am going to send them back. I have a couple of pedestal helm chairs from another boat and never used them. I am thinking of using them, but I will have to cut a hole to get access to the underside to put a plate. Haven't quite figured that out yet. Thanks for the responses.
BTW your seats look great!!
