Default 10.08.2015 - Black fishing

We had another beautiful day and a record day for the MoJoe. At first we thought, no fishing, no GREEN CRABS to be found, in Brooklyn or Staten Island. After I made a few calls, bingo we got GREENIES. We caught plenty of fish, the only problem was, NOT ONE KEEPER. We had life as soon as we hit the bridge, non stop. As soon as the bait hit the bottom, fish on. We caught 58 Black fish, 32 by me and 26 by Joe.

We jig for them here also, but they use a green and orange jig, looks like the insides of a crab. I don't like jigging for them.

What kind of shiny jigs you use fishing for them, diamond jigs? Right now there is a shortage of Green Crabs, none to be found. I picked up a half bushel on Thursday and when they are gone, not sure.

I've caught em on diamond jigs & Finesse jigs, especially in a shallow current like a canal or inlet, but green crabs outfish them by far.

Green Crabs are not to be found, no one has them. I was told the traps are coming up empty. Skunk, got them by you?
