that is a winter flounder almost next to a summer flounder. I guess we can all get along.

gonna blow off a perfect day to glass my motorwell back on and, instead, go cod fishing with a buddy Sunday.

Sunday-
Light and variable winds...becoming W around 5 kt late in the morning...then becoming S in the afternoon. Seas around 2 ft. Mainly in SE swell with a dominant period of 10 seconds.

Fished today........tried for striped bass, but nope, not on bunker, not on the troll.

Took a ride ( which I do often ) from Shark River area to Sandy Hook.
Found a small fleet drifting and anchored fishing for stripers. Nope.

Then tried for fluke.....two shorts .

Finally made my way out to Sea Girt Reef, starting by drifting till bites were frequent so I anchored up and it was game on. Throw back to large seabags, plus a nice cod fish too.
Really great fishing to finish the day. Cruised back at a nice soft 3,500rpm with tabs down for a smooth easy ride.

Now the surprise, back in shark river, watched a young girl land a big fluke ( likely 6-8lbs )with two friends on a little boat. That river does hold so big fish, but its a tough ratio. Turned out they had FOUR nice keepers !!!!!

Enjoyed the ocean, and the V again
