Ok, I was interrupted from my post and didn't tell a fish story.

Went to Pompano Beach from NJ. We flew Spirit out of Atlantic City. $118 round trip! We got out on-time at 7 am last wednesday behind a big snowstorm. :)

My brother keeps that 29 Aquasport there behind a condo he rents out. The boat has been sitting for months in need of repair. raw water pump, Tran cooler, some fuel hoses...oh....back to fish story...

first day we fished another guys boat, Kite & $180 worth of goggles & pilchards.
we were hounded by sharks:( My brother was fighting a 100 pound bull shark when a sail came in and wacked at all three kite baits(maybe it was 2 sails?). anyway, lines were tangled, didn't release, big sail jumping insanely 10 feet from the boat. The line I was reeling in to get out of the way comes tight on the fish and snap goes the line as it rubs across the kite line. Meanwhile my bro is still battling that shark. We also caught a mutton, a red grouper and a small king.

The next day we worked on the boat all day. Should have fished. Sails went insane with boats reporting 5, 7 , 22!

We trolled up some tuna and mahi over the next few days and we did a night drop on the reef for snapper. we got a couple dozen yellowtails. I caught a 6 pound bluefish, of all crazy things, and we finished the night with that 20 pound cobia on a little snapper hook, no leader, spinning rod.

The last night we went swording. No bites.

By the way, If anyone is interested in a 29 Aquasport, twin MP 350s, let me know. My bro wants to sell it (well, not really) cause he doesn't get to use it enough. You could probably steal it for under $20k. Great fishing boat, just needs some loving care more than once a year.

Cool man sounds like had a fun trip....

Kite lines huh.......I guess someone doesnt like to relax and have a beer while fishin, haha too much work for me. I know those guys love it but there are less PITA ways to catch fish for sure!!!!

.....and $118 for that flight is a STEAL!!!!
