| any of you guns running an electric trolling motor on the bow of your V?

as the question ask. The fishing I do around the islands is made really nice by being able to troll around the rock structures. I am not sure though if the bow of the V is too tall for a trolling motor.

Our esteemed Reelapeelin has used one successfully for years....It had a pretty long shaft on it to accomodate the V. I am sure he will be by shortly to elaborate.

This length shaft worked great on the '74 you see in these pics...Had the shaft replaced w/longer one when I moved up to the V21 I had...that same length also works well on the '84 I have it on now...for the type of live-bait fish I mostly do, I couldn't get along w/out it...Advise you get an onboard charger to keep the batteries hot...much easier, just plug in and forget about it...will be hot when yer ready to go

How fast?...control settings from 1-10...I/m generally on 1-3 pulling live-bait cuz I wanna be movin' slow...higher settings can get ya movin' along pretty good, but I don't have any numbers to give ya...like said above, this is a 70lb thrust motor...consider wind and currents where you fish and that might have you thinkin' about an 80lb thrust motor...it's physically a larger motor and would give you more push Here are some shots from the '84 cuddy the Minn Kota is mounted on now...with a 60" shaft, had to kick it a little sideways toward the helm so it didn't hang over the open hatchway and block access to the bow... Cterrebone might get some ideas from these pics as well...electric motors aren't for everybody, but I use this one in fresh & saltwater all the time...I missed it while it was gone to NJ...but that's a whole 'nother story... One other thing...my bow light is blocked and will have to be replaced w/two separate red/green lights eventually...but I'm not doin' any night boating at present, so no rush there...it'll happen soon enough...

Here's an 80lber we mounted on my buddy's 24' CC...even w/better access to the bow, that remote is far more than just a convenience working multiple lines out the back w/the motor runnin' on the front...this is also a 60" shaft and 24 volt...there's a 110lb thrust too which is 36 volt requiring 3 batteries, but after 20+ years of using these things, I've never needed that much push....
