| Deck drains

As I was washing the V20 I noticed that my deck drain in the back of the boat is busted. Does anyone know where to get a replacement drain/fitting that will fit a 1989 v20? I'm having some trouble finding one that fits. Thanks guys! -Jim

I've been looking for exact replacement for my '84. Had to settle for the mushroom type that leave about a 1/4 inch puddle.

I saw those at west marine yesterday. I guess I will have to settle for that and do the same thing you did. Thanks!

i used a brass version of a drain similar to this one. it is a bar drain for small sinks. i had to go to a local plumbing house. i also had to cut off the threaded nipple on the bottom to get it higher than the thru hull. http://www.plumbingsupply.com/images...iner-specs.jpg |

| Phat, I like yer bar sink drains....specially the lift out baskets... I took a lil different approach and got the drain fittings off the floor and went to 1 1/2 openings for better drainage...

Plugged the old holes w/4200 and round plastic disk...trimmed the 4200 after the picture was taken...to date NOTHING has clogged up in them which the original floor drains are notorious for...

Only when two or more peeps walk all the way back...probably will install backflows eventually...goin' oversize wasn't intended to stop water comin in, but to allow greater volume flowing OUT...AND REDUCE TENDANCY TO CLOG...the drop down drains that were in there had strainers down in the drain that were made to clog...plus the 90* elbow and it's bound to clog up...

Floor drains in my 96' V21 are ok - my opinion should have been larger from the factory. Boat certainly not designed to be taking repeated waves over the bow, or worse - stern and then shed the water quickly through the drains. |
