Smile Transom Bracket

Was wondering if anyone would know what the transom angle is on a 88 V20. Looking into taking out the old 3.7 and getting an outboard put on. Any help would be greatly appericated.

13 degrees is what mine measures. Welcome aboard. Brackets are cool IMO.... How much setback are you going with?

I removed a sea drive from my old v and installed a Gil bracket. It's not too difficult to do...

Thanks guys,

Bygracealone I was wondering where did you find a bracket like that. I like the way that one looks. I have been trying to find one but I have had no joy. I was thinking about going 30" setback. Is this to far?

Salt, I was fortunate in that one of our fellow members, Kamikaze, had one to sell. They do come up for sale from time to time on boating forums.

The only downside to this style is that there's no flotation in the bracket... That said, I think it looks pretty cool... :-)

That is a Gil bracket, Gil is not in business anymore but they come up for sale every so often. Armstrong and Stainless Marine are the big guys on flotation types.

I have a brand new 30" non-platform Armstrong sitting in my basement. Bought it for my old Formula 233 project and then sold the boat. I've been dragging my feet on putting it up for sale in hopes of finding another hull to stick it on. I paid $950 for it and will sell it for the same. Just want to get my money back. It will come with the Armstrong deckplate, mounting washers, touch-up paint, instructions, etc. If you're interested, let me know.

Check your email as well.
