If you have a smart phone with any android operating system (and I'm sure IPHONE too), you can download navionics charts for $14 bucks and use your phone.

On second thought I think I'll just take Skools Out with me, he will point me in the right direction.

Garmin 76 series, had one a while ago and it lasted forever and easy to use. Borrowed a buddies lowrance H2O and was not impressed, not nearly as easy to use.

I just bought a used GPAMAP76 from EBAY for 37.00 +/-, a good purchase? Purchased from a place in FL so hopefully the base maps in it will cover NC.

It's a shame I don't have a Garmin, I could pay you to take it. I bought stock in garmin years ago, so about 8 years ago I decided to buy one. It was such as hard piece of crap to operate I gave it away and sold all my stock. Looks like I made the right decision on both items.

I'll never own another. If I ever buy another boat and it has a garmin product someone can have it.
