Default Decarboning

MJ or CB or SK turned me onto the forum site at iboats. *On the Force Forum they always talk of decarboning. *I've never heard it mentioned here. *Does anyone decarb? *If so, tell me about it, please. *Bill Mc ;D
I hope this is the corect place to post this topic.

Default Too funny!

These hackers have been relentless lately. This thread is 7 yrs old!!! Funny part is that the question was never answered (suprised Mac_Attack stuck around after that!). BUMP!

I decarb with seafoam. With my the 115HP on my old boat, it seemed to help alot after the 1st treatment. Cleaned the cylinders and plugs up good. Gotta think it cleaned the carbs some, too. I mixed it as recommended with fuel/oil mix in a pony tank. Ran it on the hose with the pony tank for awhile, then fogged the air intakes with Deep Creep until eventually bogging it down. Then let it sit for 30 mins and restart on the hose and let it idle. The nastiest white smoke for awhile, then the engine just seemed to start purring. I didn't notice much improvement when I did it to the Intruder, but I'll probably do it a couple times a year.

Decarbing is a great way to keep your 2 stroke at its best performance. The Mercury Power Tune is awesome stuff, but the Johnson/Evinrude stuff is just as good it seems like.

I gotta go with AWThacker.. Seafoam to engines is the cats meow, the dogs arf, the ducks quack..... in other words, it just goes with engines.. great stuff.. follow the directions and have a sweet running engine for the season.. and don't forget to use Stabil for ethanol in your gas for trouble free storage.

That ring free is some good stuff. So is the power tune. I have seen great results from both.
