There's been various threads about capacity plates on here....do a search for "capacity plate" and you can read a bunch...although mine is also illegible they seem to have said 7 persons, 1050 lbs according to some reading on....my opinion is that unless you are a purist and want one...you dont need one.

Mine has faded too on my 1991 cuddy, but the 7 persons/1050 lbs. is correct.

Thanks I'm no purist by any means. it's just the Pa fish and boat on this lake have nothing better to do but fine people for something as silly as that.Come on i think a 20 boat with only seating for 3 and little equipment wouldn't be overloaded .But that's just my opinion. thanks again.

I believe a capacity plate was not required in 20' and above.
Found the following on another site: http://www.boat-ed.com/fl/course/p2-...urcapacity.htm "Although federal law requires capacity plates only on boats less than 20 feet in length, the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) requires a capacity plate on all boats less than 26 feet in order to be certified by NMMA." Mine doesn't have one. There is a rule of thumb on calculating the load based on lengthXwidth/15. Granted cooler, fish.... need to be subtracted from this. |
