Default 470 Outdrive upper and lower fit

The remote control is in forward and the lower unit is in forward (turns counterclockwise) can I lower the upper unit onto the lower tighten the 5 bolts up then slide (assuming everything is still in alignment) the outdrive into the bell housing? Is there a better way for one guy to handle this ?

it should lock in(engage the clutch adn turning the verticle shaft) turning the prop counter clockwise as viewed from the rear. Rotatr treh shift shaft in the lower unit clockwise while turning the prop shaft counter clockwise, that should lock everything in Fwd, if you turn the prop the opposite way, even just a little bit, it will move the shift linkage out place.

it's that little bit of movement that keeps screwing me - considering building a frame of some sort to hold the lower tight while I slide the upper over it. Can't seem to hold them both without something gettn fubared.
