Default wanted. NEED MERCURY OUTBOARD IGNITION SWITCH

HI,
guys i have a 87 mercury 150 black max thats sitting on a stand right now. im looking for a ignition switch that i can wire into my harness to test engine before i put it on boat. switch can be old as long as it will work.

The switches are cheap, I'd replace with a new one if you feel that is the culprit.
I haven't looked to see if this is yours, but you get the idea.

hi,
i just wanted a switch to crank my outboard with on the stand. the one on the boat is good. so im just looking for a working second hand switch. thanks

Do you have a second harness? or do you need the last 3 feet of the harness with the 8 pin connector . . . so you can wire a switch to it and use it as your test harness.

The Mercs aren't like the OMC's?
With no wire harness attached, the motor will crank up and run, just not shut off.
Connect the jumper battery to the starter solenoid and jump from the starter relay to the positive post.
You will have to choke the motor down in order to shut it off.

thanks,
i have a short 3 foot harness. the harness was cut when it was took out of boat. so all i need is the ignition switch to wire to that harness.
