Talking Durabak is on the way!

I finally got around to ordering my Durabak for the deck and dash on my 250 Sportsman and hopefully it'll be here by the weekend. I ordered a gallon and a quart of Dark Grey UV textured. Anybody have any tips or ideas on it? Also i plan to paint the cabin sides and helm area with Perfection in the Snow White color.

I read somewhere that the rougher the surface is, the better is holds and stands up to abuse. Is this right? If so, i plan to use my side grinder with a cone wire brush to wire brush the whole deck.

Fed Ex finally emailed me the tracking number, the estimated delevery date is March 3 (of what year? ) Hopefully Fed Ex isn't like DHL and takes it all around the country.

Mine came to the house Fed Ex in 2 days! You will have it sooner than you think. Get ta sandin... I left the sides of the deck smooth for washdown run-off. After two coats I cut the tape out. I sanded the entire deck but missed a spot with the xylene ner the edge of the deck. small repair but get the deck spotless dude. Also, keep the lid on that can. This stuff gets hard in the trey quick. I put a piece of wax paper in the can on top of the paint to keep air from it. Good luck!

Put the cover on tight and turn the can upside down!! the paint it self will keep the air out that way!!

My V had a diamond pattern in the glass floor! It was good to go.

Wonderful!!

I agree on the rougher the surface the better....do the wire brush thing for sure.

Also if you are masking off for a clean line MAKE SURE you pull the tape as soon as you get the final coat on. Much like 5200 if it starts curing before you pull tape it CAN peel it up because its so rubbery.

Good luck! Post pics!

Where can i get more rollers for the Durabak? I was looking online and it seems Herculiner uses the same rollers as Durabak, but wasn't sure. Sadly my painting has to wait till the weekend after next.
